Special application requirements must be considered in the base design and construction of the EK-Series vehicles. These special options are made available for the functionality and at the request of our customers.
The EK-Series is standardly equipped with a two stage mast. This is more stable and energy efficient solution, offers better rear visibility through the mast, and reduces the overall vehicle length. An advantage for the three stage mast, is one in which the vehicle must negotiate doorways or travel under obstructions. The simultaneous and equal extension of mast channels enables a continuous lift / lower motion. A dampening of the hydraulics normally associated with the mast segments extending or collapsing is not required.
Optional three stage mast with full free lift allows access to full lift heights under varying ceiling elevations. This mast design allows the cab to lift prior to the extension of the mast channels. The design requires a dampening of the hydraulics in both lift & lower modes in order to provide a smooth vibration free transition as the mast channels extend or collapse.
The EK 1500 XL has a special torsion stabilized inner mast that minimizes mast deflection up to a lift height of 55 feet (17 m). All other EK models with Very High lift heights can add this option. This is normally considered when storing or retrieving liquid loads or loads that have higher internal dynamics.
Sideshift on a turret truck enables the operator to pick loads to and from varying pallet widths. The sideshift will minimize the reach distance of the operator by moving the pallet as close as the front of the cabin wall.
The optional electric shift lock provides for the handling of various load sizes in a specified aisle dimension.
The retractable stabilizer provides an option to increase or maintain load capacity in a very narrow aisle at extreme elevations. The stabilizer jacks extend automatically while inserting or retracting loads above a specified elevation. In this manner heavy loads can be handled even when the vehicle base chassis is narrow.
